Top 20 Britpop Songs

I recently discovered this sub-genre of rock music, and I must say, it’s pretty damn good. From bands like Elastica and Oasis to Pulp and Suede, these bands and songs defined the British music scene for the entirety of the 90’s. I decided that I would list my twenty favorite songs of the genre today. Enjoy:

20) Blur- Parklife (1994)

19) Pulp- F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E. (1995)

18) Blur- Coffee and TV (1999)

17) Oasis- Champagne Supernova (1995)

16) Blur- Beetlebum (1997)

15) Oasis- Wonderwall (1995)

14) Elastica- Never Here (1995)

13) Oasis- Live Forever (1994)

12) Elastica- Car Song (1995)

11) The Smiths- There Is a Light That Never Goes Out (1986)

10) Elastica- Connection (1995)

9) Blur- Girls and Boys (1994)

8) Suede- Stay Together (1994)

7) Blur- Song 2 (1997)

6) Pulp- Common People (1995)

5) Blur- Charmless Man (1995)

4) Oasis- Don’t Look Back in Anger (1995)

3) Elastica- Waking Up (1995)

2) Pulp- Disco 2000 (1995)

1) Blur- The Universal (1995)

Jesus Christ, that was a lot harder than I thought. Disco 2000 and The Universal were separated by like, a sliver of an atom in terms of ranking. They are practically interchangeable. I love all these songs, so please, check them out if you haven’t already. It’s worth it. Until next time… watch the Hot Cops scene from Arrested Development. It’s really funny. Yeah, that’ll pass the time between rapid posts. Bye. I’m done now.
