Top 11 Songs of the 80’s

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another edition of my Best of the Decades series. Today, I’ll be sharing my eleven favorite songs from the 1980’s. Again, only one entry per band, so don’t get mad at me, or think that this is 100% accurate. Anyways, let’s get into this…odd…decade.

1) Prince- “When Doves Cry”

How can you just leave me standing, alone in a world that’s so cold…

2) Bruce Springsteen- “The River”

Now those memories come back to haunt me, they haunt me like a curse…

3) Guns N’ Roses- “Welcome To The Jungle”

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games…

4) Dire Straits- “Brothers in Arms”

Through these fields of destruction, baptism of fire…

5) Michael Jackson- “Billie Jean”

Don’t go around breaking young girls’ hearts…

6) U2- “Where the Streets Have No Name”

I’ll show you a place, high on a desert plain…

7) Fleetwood Mac- “Big Love”

Oh I’ll build you a kingdom in that house on the hill…

8) R.E.M.- “The One I Love”

This one goes out to the one I love…

9) The Clash- “London Calling”

The ice age is coming, the sun’s zoomin’ in…

10) Def Leppard- “Pour Some Sugar On Me”

Crazy little woman in a one-man show…

11) Billy Idol- “White Wedding”

Hey little sister, shotgun…

I’m not as big a fan of 80’s music as 90’s overall, but there is some really good stuff. Let me know what you think!
